Tempo is seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Research Assistant/Technician. This position will heavily support the company’s Product Development and Science & Innovation teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory duties including sampling, testing, and analyzing data on raw materials, in-process and final products. The successful candidate will also develop and validate analytical methods.
The position requires the candidate to have a bachelor’s degree within a scientific field of study. Experience with basic wet bench activities and knowledge of cGMP are a plus but not required. The successful candidate will join us at our headquarters in San Diego, CA to work on innovative biomaterial-based tissue engineering products.
Key Responsibilities – Research Assistant/Technician:
Will include but are not limited to:
- Perform analytical testing to support product development and method validation.
- Ensure compliance with established testing methods and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tests performed and results obtained.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Assist in preparing analytical data for presentations and contribute to laboratory investigations and reports.
- Support product testing and analysis, collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns.
- Working within lab environment and following Manufacturing Work Instructions.
- Support shelf stability and materials management.
- Work within the guidelines of the QMS, SOPs, Work Instructions and Quality Control procedures.
- Work effectively within a team environment while satisfying individual responsibilities and objectives.
- Present data and reports on project status during group meetings.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with typical laboratory equipment such as UV Spectrophotometers, pH meters, and centrifuges.
- Experience in analytical techniques, such as chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.
- Experience with in vitro and/or cell-based assays (e.g. ELISA, cytotoxicity).
- Aseptic techniques (working in a BSC or ISO-5 hood).
- Knowledge or experience in organic synthesis is a plus.
- Working within a Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field.
- Industry experience not required. Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
